Superb Grinding Experience
By: Daniel Mitchell on 17 August 2021I was looking to replace my Mazzer Mini and wanted something that would compliment my Profitec Pro 800. Something manual and something unique, and gosh how this has delivered. It’s genuinely better than I thought it would be. Each coffee has become ritual-like. While being super quick and surprisingly quite, the huge 83mm burrs create a fluffy, consistent and delicate grind every time. I seriously haven’t produced a sink shot yet. One of the best features is the stepless worm drive, so micro-adjustment is accurate, fluid and easy to replicate. The single dose works a treat for our household because we like to have up to three different beans going at once. In the morning I like a darker bold number in a double espresso to get me going, while my wife likes something that works for a flat white. By the afternoon I’m ready for a lighter roasted single origin and something with a bit more complexity. It’s refreshing to chip and change beans at will, instead of having to persist through a hopper of slowly-staling beans. While it’s not sold as a zero retention grinder, with the right attention to detail and RDT it pretty much is. I get the full 18g out I put in. When I do the odd check from time to time, it never fails to impress. The grinder is build like a tank, but at the same time offers elegance that complements my Pro 800 beautifully. It’s a seriously good-looking grinder. The included extras are first grade components, just like on the grinder. Another shout out to Debbie, Charlie, Amber and the team for their help and consistently personable customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jetblack or this fabulous piece of machinery art.
