The Lelit PL41TEMD is a good quality Italian espresso machine capable of making cafe quality coffee at home. The built in PID temperature controller ensures stable brew water temperature which is vital for great tasting espresso. The PID also controls the steam pressure to ensure strong, consistent steam. The stainless steel and brass construction ensures a long service life.
The PL41TEMD has a 3 way valve so that the group handle can be immediately removed after brewing. This valve also allows the machine to be backflushed. This feature makes the machine easy to use and easy to clean.
The Lelit PL41TEMD has a built in brew pressure gauge which shows whether the brew pressure is optimal. (Too little pressure indicates an under extraction, too much pressure indicates an over extraction). The gauge will also indicate when maximum pressure is reached while backflushing - so that you know when to turn the pump off.
For the first time on a Lelit model, the PL41TEMD has a true 9BAR OPV fitted. This ensures the brew is at the optimal pressure so that bitter coffee does not result as a consequence of high brew pressure. This pressure will be able to be read off the brew pressure gauge when extracting a shot.

It's a winnerBy: Ticia on 6 July 2018Shopping online I chanced upon a review about the Lelit and took the plunge. I haven't been disappointed. Once you get your grind right the machine produces consistently great coffee and the steamer wand is sturdy and efficient. As a single boiler machine it needs to be primed after steaming by pumping hot water through the steam wand. Haven't had to do this before so was a bit nervous about remembering but it doesn't take too long to get the hang of it and now it's just part of the process. What was a standout for me was the service by Jetblack Espresso. Prior to dispatching my order they called to confirm. They also tested and primed the machine before they sent it on its way. They even included a simplified version of instructions to ensure that even those not inclined to read instructions had some idea of what they were doing! Can't fault the machine but even better was the service from Jetblack Espresso.
Great machine!By: Jon Mendel on 26 October 2017Really happy with this machine! The Jetblack staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, responding to my initial questions and pointing me towards the PL41TEMD. It feels sturdy and well built, and has been more than enough for the 2-4 lattes/flat whites I make a day. Very easy to use! The best excuse I've ever had to drink more coffee.

Perfect replacement for old Gaggia ClassicBy: Steve on 30 December 2016Really enjoying getting to know the Lelit after retiring my well used and trusty Gaggia Classic (10yrs service). I'm not into all the fancy high end machines and look for quality over quantity and value for money. The Lelit has both in spades. It's a perfect replacement for my Gaggia; slotting nicely into the small space in our kitchen. I purchased a Macap grinder from Jetblack a little while back and that made a substantial difference to the quality and consistency of the espresso from my Gaggia. I'm still finding the right grind setting/bean/tamp combo for the Lelit. I'm trying new beans and the weather has been crazy humid so lots of experimentation still to conduct ;-) Overall, loving the Lelit a week in (bought ages ago but was a Christmas pressie). PROS: - Quality of machine and finish - Comes with double, single, pod, and backflush inserts for portafiller - PID temp control is a nice touch - Larger water tank and drip tray than my Gaggia Classic - Much quieter pump than my Gaggia CONS: - Plastic tamper - yeah, I know this is a personal thing and I really should have bought a proper one with the machine. My Gaggia one is a mm too big which is a pain...if another excuse to purchase from Jetblack again ;-) I am sure there are other machines out there that are just as good/better. For my price/quality/need this one was a perfect upgrade. I had my sights set on a Ranchilo Silvia for years as my upgrade but the Lelit pipped it at the post. It seems to have as good quality and the PID control tipped it in its favour. I love the quest for the perfect shot! Jetblack delivery was prompt. They rang to confirm the order. Everything arrived perfectly. JB instruction supplement and priming was a nice touch. Highly recommend and will purchase from JB again.
Easy to use and makes fantastic coffeeBy: Adam on 16 September 2016I've only had the machine for 4 days but already my wife has remarked "Why would anyone go and buy a coffee when you can make coffee as good as this at home". I have found this machine fast to heat up, easy to use and quick to clean up. Very happy with my purchase and thank you Brad for answering all my questions.
