Great machine, delicious coffee
By: Hugo on 9 October 2021I bought this machine over a year and a half ago, it's been reliably turning out the best tasting coffee I've ever had. It's very low maintenance, unlike other machines that require weekly chemical backflush - all I do is soak the portafilter each week or so in a cleaning solution to remove the built up coffee grease. The espresso is soft and sweet, and frequently surprises me how good it tastes. It's my reason to get up in the morning! It is a large machine so make sure you have adequate space for it.

A Majestic Espresso Experience
By: Daniel Mitchell on 17 August 2021Some of the sweetest, softest, and most balanced shots I’ve ever had. So much so, I’m now drinking only double espressos. I was looking for a machine to replace my beloved La Pavoni Grand Romantica, so a commercial grade lever seemed like the obvious choice. I wanted a manual lever experience along with something that pulled on old traditions. Knowing the Profitec Pro 800 uses only springs and brass to push water through fluffy compressed coffee grinds sold it for me. What made me nervous about going down the dipper system route again was that temperature control was something that really frustrated me on the Pavoni. One shot would be good, the following three ended up in the sink. I tried temperature surfing, everything YouTube and Coffee Snobs could throw at me, but it got too frustrating. The Pro 800 changed everything. I’ve been an owner for a good number of months now and can say with confidence, the PID control and huge, legendary group keeps this thing about as stable as you could ever hope. I can honestly say, regardless of how long the machine has been on, I don’t think I’ve pulled a sink shot yet. It’s well worth having the machine plumped in because it becomes a majestic, silent experience. Water pressure fills the tank, so no pump ever needs to activate. All you hear is the ripple off water crackling through fresh coffee grounds. You just need to stand back and let the spring do the work. While the lever is all set to craft it’s own espresso masterpiece, I am genuinely amazed at how much you can affect the taste with varied pre-infusion times, temperatures, and the auto-profiling provided by the lever. You can also re-engage the lever for a little more extractions whenever you so desire. The quality of the machine is second to none. Germany engineering and Italian built, it’s got superb build quality with Italian accents and flair that appeal to the eye. When I need froth milk, the steam pressure is fabulous and the massive copper boiler makes easy work of most size pitchers. Once you master the angle of the jug, micro foam is a breeze with the stock 2 hole tip. A much as I love the machine, I can’t say enough about the patience, knowledge, and dedication of the staff at Jetblack Espresso. The entire guest experience from my initial enquiry to Debbie, to the many phone conversations with Charlie, Pat and Amber was always informative and dealt with the utmost professionalism. It makes you realise that these are genuinely passionate people. Can’t recommend them or the machine enough.

I love my Pro 800
By: Stephen Andersen on 21 June 2020This is simply the best coffee machine I have ever owned. It is so simple to use and after only a few shots was making some of the best coffee I have ever had. Sweet shots that were only occasionally available of my previous machine. Rocket Evo V2. No regrets other than I should have got one earlier. sando2107
