Replacement Burrs for Espresso Grinders
Burrs do the cutting in a grinder, and over time they dull. Fresh burrs bring back grind consistency and, usually, a livelier cup. This collection brings together burr sets for grinders from many well known makers.
When to Replace Burrs
Every manufacturer publishes an expected burr life, measured in the weight of coffee ground. People who care about the cup often start checking for wear at half to three quarters of that figure. Typical signs include a less even grind, flat tasting espresso, shot times that wander without any change to your recipe, and burr edges that feel dull. Grit left in roasted beans and bagged coffee can speed up wear, and lighter roasts are tougher on burrs than darker ones.
Matching the Right Set
Burr size and shape must match your grinder, so read the millimetre size in the title. Two grinders from the same brand can use different sets, such as the Mazzer Mini at 58mm and the Mini Electronic at 64mm. Many titles include a part number, and each set is marked genuine or generic.
Fitting and Support
After fitting new burrs you will normally need to re-dial your grind setting. Our workshop and spare parts store can supply and fit burrs, and our team can help identify the right set from your grinder model or a photo.
