Seals, Gaskets, Fasteners and Small Parts
These are the unglamorous components that decide whether a machine leaks or stays tight. They are inexpensive, but fitting the wrong size usually means a repeat job, so accuracy matters more than price.
What Is in the Range
You will find E61 cam gaskets, mushroom top gaskets and gasket holder washers, copper gaskets in 1/4 and 3/8 inch sizes, silicone o-rings and element gaskets, blind nuts in several thread sizes, and small screws. Some are brand specific, such as items for Ascaso steam wands and shower holders and a water tank coupling nut.
Choosing the Right Size
Check dimensions rather than appearance. Gaskets are described by inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness, and o-rings by internal diameter and cross-section. Silicone and EPDM are common materials because they cope with heat. Fasteners vary by thread, length and head style, so keep the old one for comparison.
Looking After Seals
Hard water, sustained heat, over-tightening and long periods without use all shorten seal life. Seals that are leaking or have gone hard should be replaced during a service, with a thin film of food-safe lubricant where the machine requires it.
