DF64 Single-Dose Grinders for Home Espresso
The DF family is built around flat burrs and a no-hopper, single-dose approach, so you weigh the beans for each shot and grind them through. That keeps beans fresh and makes it easy to switch between coffees.
DF54, DF64 and DF83 compared
The numbers refer to burr size. The DF54 uses 54 mm burrs and sits at the compact end. The DF64 Gen 2 and DF64V use 64 mm burrs, while the DF83 steps up to 83 mm. A larger burr usually grinds a dose more quickly, and the DF83 makes most sense for households that pull many shots a day, with the DF64 a better match for most enthusiasts.
What the V models add
The V in DF64V and DF83V indicates variable speed. In the DF64V, a brushless motor allows adjustable RPM, which can be used to shift texture and clarity in the cup. Gen 2 models also include a plasma ioniser to reduce static, and the DF64V uses a magnetic chute that is easier to clean.
Choosing and getting help
Think about bench space, how many shots you pull and whether you want to experiment with speed. A large aftermarket of burrs and upgrades exists for the DF64, so ask our team what is sensible to add. Models are available to view in selected showrooms, and our workshop and spare parts store support them.
