Brewista smart coffee scales

Weighing your coffee is the single easiest way to improve consistency. Dose, yield and time are the three numbers behind almost every good espresso, and a decent scale with a built in timer shows all of them at once. Brewista scales are designed for exactly that job.

Weight and time together

The Smart Scale II has a dual display that shows weight and time side by side, so you do not need a separate stopwatch on the bench. The backlit screen is easy to read, even in a dim kitchen. It is a convenient tool for both espresso and filter coffee.

Modes for different brews

Rather than one fixed behaviour, the scale offers several timer modes. Some are fully manual, where you tare and start the timer yourself. Others are for espresso, with auto tare and a timer that starts as soon as the liquid hits the cup, or at once when you press start. There is also a pour over mode that begins counting when water is added to the grounds. Pick the mode that matches how you brew and you will not need to touch the buttons mid pour.

Auto stop

An auto stop option can be set to different durations, or turned off, so you choose whether the timer ends by itself or when you tell it to.

A practical tip

Place the scale on a level surface and let it settle before you tare. Wipe any water off the scale after each use, as moisture is the enemy of any electronic device.

Frequently asked questions

Time shows how quickly your espresso or pour over is extracting. If a shot runs too fast or slow, you can adjust the grind. A built in timer saves the trouble of watching a separate clock while you handle the cup.

Yes. The Smart Scale II has a pour over mode that starts counting when water first touches the grounds, so you can follow your recipe by weight and time without handling the buttons.

It depends on the clearance between your portafilter and the drip tray. Measure the gap with your cup in place before you buy, and ask us if you are unsure, as machines vary quite a bit.

Wipe up spills straight away, keep it dry and avoid placing it where steam is concentrated. Do not immerse it in water. Remove batteries or recharge as directed if it will sit unused for a long while.
