Brita Water Filtration for Coffee Machines

Espresso is mostly water, and the minerals in it matter twice: once for taste, and again for what they leave behind inside your boiler. Brita's Purity C range is designed for professional coffee equipment and treats water before it reaches the machine.

What the Cartridges Do

The Purity C Finest cartridge works in four steps: a pre-filter for coarse particles, a medium that reduces hardness and limescale, activated carbon to cut tastes and aromas that affect the cup, and a fine fleece for remaining particles. Other cartridges in the range, such as Quell ST, are also built for coffee, vending and similar equipment.

Choosing Between C50 and C150

The number reflects cartridge size. Larger cartridges treat more water before they need replacing, so higher-volume machines and workplaces usually suit them better. Test your tap water hardness first, and note that the filter head is sold separately from the cartridge, so make sure you have a compatible head or kit.

Support from Jetblack

Scale is a common cause of service calls, and a filter is one of the simplest ways to reduce it. Ask the team about matching a cartridge to your machine, or about servicing. Jetblack has showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Newcastle and Kiama, and a workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Filtering reduces hardness and substances that affect taste, helping protect boilers and heating elements from limescale. It can also improve flavour. The right setup depends on your local water, so test it before choosing.

They are different cartridge sizes in the Purity C range. A larger cartridge treats more litres before replacement, which suits busier machines. Your water hardness and usage determine how long either lasts.

Yes. The filter head is usually sold separately, along with fittings. This collection includes kits and a Purity C head with bracket, so check what each listing includes.

Capacity is measured in litres and depends on your water hardness and the cartridge model. Replace the cartridge when it reaches its capacity or at the interval in the Brita guidance, whichever comes first.

Use a test kit or ask your water supplier for local hardness figures. The result helps size the cartridge and plan replacement. Ask the Jetblack team if you want help interpreting it.
