Cafetto Cleaning Products for Espresso Machines and Grinders

Cafetto concentrates on one job, which is keeping coffee equipment clean. Its catalogue is organised by what is being cleaned: traditional espresso machines, automatic machines, milk systems, grinders, descalers and capsule or brewer cleaners, with an eco-minded organic range running alongside.

Match the Product to Your Machine

Cleaning chemistry is not one-size-fits-all. Powders such as Evo are used for backflushing the group head and water paths of a traditional machine, while tablets like J25 and S15 are formulated for the cleaning cycles built into automatic machines. Each listing names what the product is designed for, so read it alongside your machine manual before you buy.

Looking After the Grinder

Coffee oils and fine grounds gradually coat burrs and chutes, which dulls flavour and encourages clumping. A grinder cleaner is run through the grinder as directed on the pack, followed by a small purge of beans before you grind for drinking.

Advice from the Jetblack Team

Our workshop services espresso machines and grinders regularly, so we know what builds up when a cleaning routine slips. Call into a showroom in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Newcastle or Kiama, or get in touch online, and we will suggest a routine that suits how often you brew.

Frequently asked questions

Powder is dosed by the scoop for backflushing a traditional machine, while tablets come pre-portioned, which removes the guesswork. Some tablets are made for the cleaning programmes of automatic machines. Always follow the directions on the pack for the product you choose.

Not necessarily. Cafetto makes separate tablets for traditional and automatic machines, and the automatic ones are made to go into a brew group or run through a programmed cycle. Check the listing and your machine manual, or ask our team before using one.

Follow the directions on the pack, which generally involve running the cleaner through the grinder in place of beans. Afterwards, purge a small amount of coffee so no residue reaches your cup. A cleaner does not replace an occasional brush-out of the hopper and chute.

It depends on how much you use it. Busy cafes clean at the end of each day, while home users often settle into a weekly routine. Your machine manual sets the baseline, and our team can suggest a schedule based on how many drinks you make.

No. Cleaning removes coffee oils and residue, while descaling removes mineral scale from boilers and water paths. Machines on hard water may need both, and a water filter can reduce scale. Check your manual for the descaling method it recommends, or ask our team.
