Faema

Faema

Faema is closely tied to the E61 brew group, a design that many espresso machine makers still build around today. This collection covers E61 cams, springs, gaskets, restrictors, shafts and portafilters, so you can keep a Faema or E61-style machine running well.

Faema E61 Components for Your Espresso Machine

The E61 group is a heavy brass assembly that sits between the boiler and the portafilter. Hot water circulates through it by thermosiphon, and its thermal mass helps shots stay steady when you pull several in a row. It also allows a gentle pre-infusion stage before the pump brings full pressure to the coffee. The layout is now used by many brands, which is why E61 internals are so widely discussed.

What You Will Find Here

The range covers the working parts of the group: cam and cam spring, drain, infusion and top valve springs, restrictor and restrictor spring, mushroom gaskets, net holder, round rod and square shaft. There is also a Faema bottomless portafilter for watching how extraction unfolds.

Matching a Part to Your Group

E61 groups come in slightly different versions, so a part that suits one machine may need adjusting on another. Measure what you are replacing, note any numbers stamped on it and compare against the listing. If you are unsure, bring it into a showroom or contact the team and we will help you confirm it.

Servicing and Support

Jetblack has a workshop and a spare parts store, so a group rebuild can be done by you or by our technicians. Our showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Newcastle and Kiama have many machines on display, which is handy if you are weighing up an E61 machine before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

It is the brew head that delivers water from the boiler to the coffee puck. Hot water circulates through its heavy brass body to keep temperature steady, and its valves and cam allow a pre-infusion stage before full pump pressure is applied.

Gaskets and shower screens are the usual wear items, often renewed every year or two depending on how much you brew. Valve springs, cams and seals tend to last longer, but a stiff lever, leaks or weak flow can point to them. A workshop check can narrow it down.

Sometimes, but not always. E61 groups vary by version, and a rebuild kit for one version may need parts left out or modified on another. Compare dimensions and the shape of your old part, then ask our team to confirm before you order.

A small amount of food-safe lubricant on the cam and lever contact points can help if the lever feels stiff, but keep it off gasket faces and use it sparingly. Check your machine's service notes for the grease they recommend, or ask our workshop.

Our workshop services espresso machines, including group rebuilds, and the team can advise whether a repair or a part swap makes more sense. Get in touch to talk through your machine, or call into a showroom to discuss it in person.
