Latte Pro milk jugs

A good milk jug is one of the most important tools on the bar. The shape controls how milk spins as you steam it, and the spout controls how neatly you pour. Latte Pro makes stainless steel jugs in a range of sizes for both home baristas and working cafes.

Built-in thermometer

Each jug has a recess on both sides where a stick-on thermometer sits, which suits right and left-handed baristas alike. The thermometers are replaceable, and the recess keeps them from interfering with the pour. Reading the temperature as you steam helps you avoid scalding the milk, which kills the sweetness and flattens the texture.

Stainless steel construction

The jug is made from 304 grade stainless steel, a food safe grade that is easy to clean and will not hold onto flavours. Stainless also conducts heat quickly, so you can feel when the milk is getting warm. Wash the jug by hand and avoid the dishwasher, since the heat and detergent can damage the thermometers and finish.

Choosing a size

The right jug depends on the drink and your machine. Fill it to just below the base of the spout and no higher, because the milk needs room to expand as you add air. A smaller jug is best for a single flat white or a small cappuccino, while larger jugs suit two drinks or batch steaming. Using a jug that is too big for a small amount of milk makes good texture hard to achieve.

Frequently asked questions

Choose a jug that your milk fills to just below the spout base. A smaller jug suits one small drink, while larger sizes suit two drinks or busy service. Match it to your cups and steam wand.

Each jug has a recess on both sides for a replaceable stick-on thermometer. It lets you read the milk temperature while you steam, whether you are right or left-handed.

It is best to wash it by hand. Dishwasher heat and detergent can damage the thermometer and finish. Rinse it right after steaming so milk does not dry on the surface.

Most baristas stop around 60 to 65 degrees Celsius. Hotter than that, the milk loses sweetness and the texture suffers. A thermometer on the jug makes it easier to stop at the right point.
