Water System Components

Water tanks, level probes, hoses and fittings keep an espresso machine filled and the water flowing where it should. Browse reservoirs for brands such as Bezzera, Francis Francis and Lelit, probes in several lengths, and elbows, blind nuts and reduction joints. We can help you match a part to your model.

Water system parts for espresso machines

Before water reaches the boiler or group, it travels through tanks, tubing, fittings and sensors. When one of these parts fails, you may see leaks, a machine that will not fill, or a boiler that heats without water.

Reservoirs

A water tank is a model-specific part, so check it against your machine's name, such as a Bezzera, Francis Francis or Wega model. A cracked tank, a worn seal or a missing valve in the base are common reasons to replace one.

Level probes

A level probe senses the water level in a boiler so auto-fill works and the heating element does not run dry. Length matters, which is why several sizes are listed. A probe can also stop reading accurately when scale builds up on the tip.

Hoses and fittings

Elbows, blind nuts, reduction joints and push-fit connectors are sized by thread and tube diameter, commonly 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 inch. Measure carefully or bring the old part to a showroom, because a connector that looks right can still be the wrong size.

Before you start

Switch the machine off, let it cool and release pressure. If the job involves a boiler, our workshop can take it on. The team can also help with part numbers and compatibility, whether you visit one of our showrooms or order online.

Frequently asked questions

Water tanks are normally specific to a model or range, so match the brand and model name rather than just the size. Check the shape, the base valve and the way it seats. If you are unsure, send us your model and a photo.

It tells the machine how much water is in the boiler, so the pump can refill it and the heating element is protected from running dry. Probe length varies by machine, so compare the old probe or part number before ordering a replacement.

Scale on the probe tip can disrupt the signal, and age or damaged insulation can too. Descaling and gently cleaning the tip sometimes restores operation. If the problem returns, replace the probe and check the rest of the fill circuit.

Sizes such as 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 inch describe the thread size or tube diameter, depending on the part. Elbows may be listed as male to female or male to male. Match each end to the thread or tube it connects to.

Many owners can, with the machine off, cool and unplugged. Boiler fittings, level probes and anything under pressure call for care, and you should check the manual first. For anything you are unsure about, our workshop can service the machine for you.
