Coffee Makers by Brand

Not every good cup comes from an espresso machine. Stovetop pots, hand-pumped brewers, plunger presses and drip cones all have their place, and each brand here has its own take on how simple coffee gear can be.

Moka Pots and Stovetop Brewers

Bialetti makes up the largest part of the range, with Moka Express pots from 1 cup through to 18, and Musa models. The pot brews on the stovetop, so pick a size by how much you drink. The rubber seal and filter plate wear with use, and a Moka Express seal kit is available when they do. Replacement seals are sized to the cup size, so check yours before ordering.

Immersion, Press and Pour Over

AeroPress combines immersion with a gentle press, and can be used upright or inverted. The range includes paper filters and an Able disk. Hario is a Japanese heat-resistant glass maker, known for its V60 dripper. Espro makes presses with a two-part stainless steel filter intended to reduce sediment, and Bodum rounds out the range.

Brewing on the Go

HandPresso makes hand-pumped espresso makers that you pressurise by hand before brewing. They suit travel and camping, and expectations should be different from a full espresso machine.

Advice from Jetblack

Our team can help you decide whether a simple brewer or a full machine suits you, and our showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Newcastle and Kiama let you see items in person. Everything is also available online.

Frequently asked questions

Sizes are described in espresso-style cups, which are small servings, so a 3-cup pot makes less than you might expect. Choose by how much you drink at once, and avoid underfilling the pot, which can affect the brew. Check the listing for capacity.

Replace it when it becomes hard, flattened or no longer seals the pot. With regular use, changing it roughly every three months is a sensible interval. Seals are sized by cup size, so check the diameter of your pot before ordering a replacement.

You stand the AeroPress on its plunger, add coffee and water, steep, then fit the filter cap and flip it over the cup to press. It lets you steep for longer without coffee dripping through early. Standard upright brewing remains a simple alternative.

Not really. It is a hand-pumped travel brewer that builds pressure by pump and uses very little hot water. Results vary, so treat it as a convenient portable option and not a substitute for a full espresso machine.

Yes, the range includes AeroPress paper filters, an Able disk and Bialetti seal kits, among other accessories. Stock varies, so check the listings or ask our team if you need a part for a particular brewer.
