E61 Group Head Spare Parts and Rebuild Components

The E61 group head is found on many prosumer espresso machines, and it is designed to be serviced. Wear parts such as seals, valves and screens eventually need replacing, and this collection gathers the components we hold for that work.

What is in the collection

You will find brew and drain valves, valve rods and springs, valve guides in several sizes, bare and stainless steel mushrooms, shower screens and a shower head, plus a complete brew group. There is also an ESE pod filterholder, a Faema group head spacer and a digital thermometer for monitoring group temperature.

Signs a part needs replacing

Water or grounds escaping around the portafilter rim, a handle that locks further than it used to or uneven water flow from the shower screen are all clues. Gaskets and screens are typically checked around once a year, while a full valve rebuild is often planned every few years, depending on use and water quality.

Getting the fit right

E61 parts are not all identical. Valve guides and springs come in different dimensions, and the title shows the size, so measure before you order. If you are unsure, send us your machine brand and model and we will help you find the right item. Our workshop and spare parts store can also service your group head if you would prefer not to do it yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Check them about once a year. Replace them sooner if you see leaks around the portafilter rim, uneven water flow or channelled shots. The right interval depends on how often you use the machine.

A valve guide positions the valve rod inside the group head so it moves cleanly. Guides come in several dimensions, so measure yours or check the listing size carefully, and ask us if you are unsure.

Leaking valves, stiff operation, dripping from the group or a machine that will not seal after new gaskets can indicate a rebuild. A full rebuild is often planned every few years. Ask our team if you want a second opinion.

No. The E61 design is widely used, but dimensions and details vary between makers and generations. Always check sizes against your machine, and tell us the brand and model if you want us to confirm compatibility.

Our workshop looks after espresso machines, and a group head rebuild is a typical service job. Contact us with your machine details and the symptoms, and we will advise on timing and what is involved.
